Mobile marketing, payments and commerce specialist i-Free has become the first Russian firm to join the NFC Forum. Headquartered in St Petersburg, i-Free has offices in Moscow, Mumbai, Sao Paolo, Beijing, Kiev and Almaty and offers its products and services in 83 countries around the world.
"We have designed NFC-based products and services for a few years," says Andrei Pristinsky, who is in charge of innovation projects at i-Free. "But we are on a whole new level now, so partnership with a high-profile industry association like the NFC Forum will really help us be as productive as we can be. We plan to aggressively promote the NFC standard and network extensively with international companies."
NFC projects completed by i-Free to date include a pilot NFC 'hot spot' for an office complex in St Petersburg and School Online, a service package designed for public schools.
