The deadline for submitting papers for consideration for presentations at next year’s Wima conference, to be held in Monaco in April, is 3 December.

Anyone who wishes to make a presentation at the Wima 2011 conference should submit an outline of their proposed presentation to the organisers by close of business next Friday.

Proposals are invited for each of the conference’s three streams: The business track, the technical track and the NFC research track.

The business track will feature sessions on countries and regions where NFC is already — or is taking rapid steps towards — being commercially deployed or is emerging as a key technology of the future.

The technical track will cover how to develop applications and integrate NFC technology into devices, tag programming, antenna design, testing, security, compliance and standardisation.

The NFC research track, which is presented in conjunction with NFC Research Lab Hagenberg, will bring together researchers and practitioners in the area of RF and hardware related topics as well as smartcards, security, applications, services, usability and user experience.

Submissions, which will be considered by a six person programme committee which includes senior industry figures and academics, should cover:

• Why the committee should accept the paper
• Three bullet points outlining your main message
• What you believe the audience will learn from your presentation
• Who you expect to attend your presentation

Potential presenters are reminded that novelty and creativity will be taken into account during the selection process.

Wima, now in its fifth year, is a key event on the global NFC calendar and will be held in Monaco from 19-21 April 2011.
