A new version of hit video game Fruit Ninja is to be pre-loaded on the new Nokia 701, 700 and 600 Symbian NFC phones, Nokia has told NFC World.

The NFC version of Fruit Ninja will work in a similar way to the NFC version of Angry Birds — by tapping any two of these NFC-enabled devices together, users will gain extra in-game benefits or rewards. With Fruit Ninja, players will be able to unlock a special blade in the game, while with Angry Birds they get access to exclusive levels.

Fruit Ninja is described as “the messiest and most satisfying fruit game ever”. Published by Australian games developer Halfbrick Studios, over 20 million copies of Fruit Ninja have been sold to date across a number of mobile, tablet and console platforms.
