‘Connecting and sharing with near field communication’ takes place on 14 September and ‘Designing systems and developing drivers for NFC’ will take place on 15 September.
Two sessions at Microsoft’s Build Windows developers conference are to be devoted to NFC.
The news follows the announcement that support for NFC will be included in Windows 8.
- On Wednesday 14 September at 15:30 PDT there’s Connecting and sharing with near field communication. “What’s cooler than connecting two machines together by tapping them?” asks Microsoft. “Leveraging the power of Near Field Communication (NFC) and the new ‘tap & go’ gesture built into Windows 8, you can build powerful new social apps that enable entirely new scenarios your customers have only dreamed of.”
- On Thursday from 16:00 PDT there’s Designing systems and developing drivers for NFC which covers Windows 8’s API for communicating with PCs and other devices via NFC. “This session will provide an overview of the built-in scenarios and developer opportunities,” says Microsoft. “We will also discuss hardware considerations for various form factors, technical requirements for driver development, as well as certification requirements.”
“The sessions will not be streamed live, but they will be available on demand later,” Microsoft has told NFC World.
