NXP has introduced a multi-protocol, NFC-ready contactless transceiver chip that can be used in a wide range of banking, e-government, transport and mobile payment terminals and other devices.
The CLRC663 supports all 13.56MHz contactless standards and is compatible with established smart card, smart tag and smart label technologies, including NFC Forum tags and Mifare products. It is fully compliant with ISO 14443 A&B, ISO 15693, ISO 18000-3 mode 3 and Felica. It also supports NFC initiator mode in peer-to-peer communication.
Additionally, a new low-power card detection feature allows the reader's microcontroller to go into sleep mode while still polling for cards. The chip supports baud rates up to 848 kbits for high-speed transactions.
