NFC serves up badminton game

A multiplayer badminton game that uses smartphones to imitate racquets has been shown off by Indonesian developer Agate Studio.

Smash Mania
GAME: Players pair up with NFC

NFC is used in the game to initiate a Bluetooth connection between two mobile phones, and then each player alternately swings their handset to serve or return the shuttlecock before watching the screen to see the result of the shot.

‘Smash Mania’ runs on Nokia handsets with Symbian Anna or Belle. Agate told NFC World that a future version will also use NFC to unlock upgrade items, new characters and levels.
