POS terminal maker Ingenico has partnered with mobile commerce specialist iMobile3 to introduce iMRP, a mobile retail platform aimed at US retailers.
iMRP incorporates a range of mobile POS devices based on the Apple iPod Touch and iPhone. The iSMP devices can be used by sales assistants to process EMV, contactless, magnetic stripe and NFC transactions anywhere in the store. Independent merchants can also use the devices to take payments on the move.
"Merchants are continuously seeking new ways to connect and interact with their loyal consumers, and consumers are looking for unique experiences with their preferred brands," says Thierry Denis, president of Ingenico North America. "Our new open mobile retail platform will allow merchants to capture new revenue, increase customer loyalty, and improve profitability by engaging consumers where today's shopping experience is increasingly taking place — on the mobile device in their hands."
