The new Android handset is based on Intel’s smartphone reference design and will be Orange branded. It includes NFC, an Intel Atom Z2460 processor, a 4-inch display, 16Gb of memory and an 8MP camera.

The new phone, codenamed the Orange Santa Clara, will be available in the UK and France this summer. It will ship with Android 2.3 Gingerbread with an upgrade to Ice Cream Sandwich due “shortly thereafter”.
