    Apple starts beaming with WiFi

Apple’s iPhoto for iOS application, announced this week at the iPad launch, includes a feature to ‘beam’ photos to other iOS devices. The software’s Photo Beam function currently uses WiFi to share full-resolution images and associated captions and edits, for example from an iPhone to an iPad.

A Cnet video shows how multiple steps are required to use the function — some of which could be eliminated using NFC. Could this be a sign of things to come?
