Austrian town ties book downloads to locations

Scan the NFC tag or QR Code to download a book related to the location

Seventy sites in the Austrian town of Klagenfurt have been equipped with NFC and QR code stickers that enable visitors and local residents to download books related to the location of each sticker.

Both fiction and non-fiction books are available and all are out of copyright, enabling the not-for-profit Project Ingeborg team to make them available free of charge.

“The works often have a reference to the relevant place,” says the team. Arthur Schnitzler’s ‘The Killer’, for instance, can be downloaded near the police station while Hugo von Hofmannsthal’s ‘Everyman’ is available at the cathedral.
