Nokia and Harman launch NFC accessories range

Nokia has announced a partnership deal with Harman that will see the two companies jointly producing a range of wireless consumer audio products.

“Nokia and Harman’s JBL brand will jointly develop and co-brand the exclusive line of products which will include a range of speakers delivering room-filling acoustics with dynamic design,” says the partners. “Wireless connectivity from mobile device to speaker will be facilitated through Bluetooth technology capable of connecting any existing Lumia phone, or by tapping to connect with NFC for next generation Lumia phones based on Windows Phone 8.”

The first product in the new lineup is the MD-51W JBL PlayUp Portable Wireless Speaker for Nokia, “a unique speaker for music lovers who value excellent sound quality, delivering crystal clear sound”, which will ship before the end of 2012 and will cost €149.
