“Our NFC enabled content mobility solutions with NXP are extremely relevant, fully interoperable PC-to-mobile offerings which solve an immediate need and desire of users for wireless data access, mobility and streaming between devices,” says sMedio’s George Tang. “Tap to transfer, tap to sync, and tap to stream provides both an immediately gratifying user experience, and in parallel, creates a consistent, frequent usage of NFC.”

“sMedio’s software optimized for our NFC solutions is an excellent pairing of NFC enabled technology for PC and tablet manufacturers,” adds NXP’s Jeff Miles. “This solution extends and compliments core operating system functionality for NFC and adds significant value to both Window 8 PCs and Android devices,” Miles concludes.

The first solutions based on the sMedio and NXP partnership will be available in time for the launch of Windows 8.
