Giesecke & Devrient (G&D) has introduced SmartTrust Portigo, a three part white label mobile wallet solution “for NFC services and beyond” that includes:

• A wallet client that runs on the user’s mobile phone and is compatible with Windows Phone, Android, Blackberry and Apple iOS devices.
• A software development kit (SDK) that enables secure service providers to develop and deliver secure “widgets” — the card apps held inside the wallet — to users.
• A network-based wallet manager, managed by the mobile wallet issuer, that enables service providers’ applications to be updated, added and blocked.

“Portigo is a framework that allows the deployment of various services,” says G&D. “These services put not only various payment media, such as debit and credit cards, but also ID cards, loyalty cards, public transport tickets, and access keys for buildings and vehicles in the electronic wallet.”

“Users will find that SmartTrust Portigo, the electronic wallet solution we are launching, is an easy-to-use app,” says G&D’s Dr Klaus Vedder. “At the same time, it opens up a wide range of new opportunities for mobile network operators, banks, and other service providers to develop new mobile services as part of their individual brand strategies.”
