Leaked images suggest physical Google Wallet card on its way

Google Wallet Card

A series of screenshots published by Android Police indicate that Google is set to offer a physical companion card for its Google Wallet service. The card would work in the same way as the virtual MasterCard currently available with Google Wallet 2.0, allowing users to charge purchases to their choice of debit or credit card at any merchant “where major credit and debit cards are accepted”.

The screenshots also indicate that Google plans to add support for transit cards, peer-to-peer money transfers and both account deposits and withdrawals.

Google Wallet can also now be used to make online purchases without the need to enter card or address details, Google has announced. “Simply click the Buy with Google Wallet button, log into Google Wallet and click to complete your order. That’s it — you’re done in three steps.”

  1. The benefit of using NFC on smartphones is primarily to relieve the users of actually carrying a huge bulk of physical cards. Why would people wanna add another physical Google Wallet card when it’s available on smartphones???? We regressing backwards in time!!!
