Gemalto’s UpTeq NFC SIM has now been certified by American Express, MasterCard and Visa.

The SIM is available in a range of form factors and supports contactless payment and other secure services via Amex ExpressPay, MasterCard PayPass and Visa payWave. The product was launched in February 2012 with a slew of certifications, including EMVCo approval for its operating system.

UpTeq NFC SIMs are now being deployed by Singapore’s three mobile operators – M1, SingTel and StarHub — and it is also being customized for the local requirements of KDDI in Japan, Rogers in Canada and Orange in France.
