Customers in Salt Lake City and Portland are being invited to beta test the bank’s new Go Mobile payments service, using an iPhone NFC case that stores a FlexPerks Visa credit card, ahead of a broader launch this year.
US Bank has begun beta testing a new NFC mobile payments service called Go Mobile in Salt Lake City, Utah and Portland, Oregon.
New US Bank FlexPerks Visa customers in the two cities are being invited to be the first to use Go Mobile. The service will then be offered “more broadly in 2013”.
Customers who qualify for a FlexPerks Visa card and opt-in for the service will receive a customized US Bank Go Mobile iPhone case, made by DeviceFidelity, that also extends the battery life of their iPhone 4 or 4S by more than 50%, along with their new card. Both the card and the iPhone case are personalized by Datacard.
“We have incorporated all of the feedback we have received from prior pilots and our customer research into this latest offering and we are excited to offer US Bank Go Mobile in these two markets,” says Dominic Venturo, chief innovation officer for US Bank Payment Services.
