BOCKING: Selected Bell ID for its “broad experience and proven technical ability”

SEM is a trusted service manager (TSM) solution for carriers that securely manages credentials on SIM cards installed in all types of NFC-capable mobile devices. SEM is being used by Canadian carrier joint venture EnStream to manage secure credentials on NFC phones.

Bell ID’s Mobile Token Manager software is used by TSMs to supply service providers, such as banks and retailers, with the means to securely provision, store and update their credentials and applications on NFC capable devices and to coordinate technical and business relationships between the multiple stakeholders involved in delivering and maintaining NFC payment services.

“We selected Bell ID for their broad experience within multiple vertical markets and proven technical ability to manage infrastructure complexity,” says Andrew Bocking, senior vice president of software product management at RIM. “With Bell ID’s Mobile Token Manager software we have been able to implement the necessary framework to oversee the secure delivery and management of mobile NFC services to any NFC capable device, including BlackBerry smartphones. As the software is vendor neutral, we have the flexibility to work with any third party provider to manage a global NFC ecosystem.”

“With this implementation, Bell ID has proven its capability to provide true carrier grade software which can support high volumes and high throughput for global multi-application real time token management solutions,” adds Pat Curran, executive chairman of Bell ID. “It confirms Bell ID’s position in the NFC market as the leading vendor independent software provider.”
