Stagecoach adds NFC to Cambridge bus stops

Stagecoach Cambridge is using NFC to point travellers to bus timetable information

UK public transportation operator Stagecoach has begun adding NFC tags to bus stops in the city of Cambridge, to provide travellers with up to date information on bus arrival times.

Tapping a tag located at one of the bus stops provides travellers with access to live information on the next buses due to call at the stop as well as at bus stops nearby. Stagecoach is using Connecthings’ AdTag platform for the service.

“This is good news for our customers and is another step towards improving the information we are able to provide to bus passengers,” says Stagecoach East managing director Andy Campbell. “We hope people will take advantage of this new option to help them find out more about their local bus services.”
