Adlink launches B2B NFC phone

Adlink IMX 2000

Taiwan-based technology manufacturer Adlink has released an NFC phone and “industrial mobile handheld device” aimed at automatic identification and data capture applications that includes a 1D laser or 2D camera-based barcode scanner, WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1 and GPS.

The IMX-2000 is shock resistant, waterproof and dustproof, includes a secure access module (SAM) slot and, says Adlink, is ideal for a “wide range of industries, including factory automation, logistics management, and transportation.”

The device is available in several configurations, including the IMX-2177 with NFC and a 1D barcode scanner and the IMX-2178 with NFC and a 2D barcode reader.

A 28 button keypad is used for input while the Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS is displayed on a sunlight-readable 3.5-inch QVGA display. Powered by an 800MHz processor with 512MB RAM, the IMX-2000 also has a five megapixel camera with autofocus and LED flash alongside slots for both 3G and LTE SIM cards.
