NFC jewellery to share contacts

Siignia iiD NFC jewellery prototype

Technology startup Siignia is to begin raising funds on Kickstarter “in a few weeks” for iiD, an item of silver jewellery that can be worn in a number of ways and contains an NFC tag which can be used to share contact information.

“The chip is embedded in a wearable piece of silver unisex jewellery, which can be worn in a multitude of ways, including key rings, necklaces, wrist-straps and brooches,” says the company. “If someone wants your contact details, all they have to do is tap their phone to the jewellery and they’ll be taken to a webpage where they can choose how they want to connect with you.”
