SMART MOVES: NXP’s world tour will showcase NFC and IoT technology in 86 cities

PARTNER NEWS: NXP is to showcase NFC and the Internet of Things (IoT) in a world tour that includes stops in 86 cities. The Smarter World Tour “is a highly visible, 36 tons, 2 levels, fully mobile semi-truck trailer designed by Luigi Colani which turns into a large and spacious mobile tradeshow,” NXP says.

“Demonstrations are divided into six major areas — secure connected vehicle, smart cities and energy, smart home and building, smart networks, secure mobile, medical and wearables [and] start-ups and communities,” the chip maker adds.

“NXP engineers will be on-hand to guide groups and demonstrate the practicality of an Internet of Things that is already here and what’s to come tomorrow. Our visitors will be able to test the demonstrations, many of them being live, and end-user products, all based on our semiconductors solutions.”

NXP is also demonstrating a suite of smart home solutions incorporating NFC technology at CES 2016 this week. Products on show include smart lighting, smoke detection and motion sensing solutions.
