White paper advises banks on launching Android-based mobile payment services

Bell ID white paper

A 16-page white paper designed to help banks make informed decisions about bringing an Android-based mobile payments service to market is now available to download from the NFC World Knowledge Centre.

‘Launching Mobile Payments for Android,’ produced by tokenization and mobile payment specialist Bell ID, explores the evolution of mobile payments and where the industry stands today before looking at the role of banks and why they need to act now in order to stay relevant.

It goes on to explore the differences between a bank’s own mobile wallet solution and one provided by a mobile network operator — including Samsung Pay and Android Pay — before looking at tokenization and securing mobile payments.

“Wait and see is no longer a viable strategy and decisions cannot continue to be postponed,” Bell ID says. “To stay relevant, banks must act now.

“When it comes to launching mobile payments, there is no silver bullet. The overall strategy a bank chooses to pursue is entirely dependent on its own individual commercial considerations and priorities.”
