Google is rolling out its Android Pay mobile payment service in Hong Kong with support for Mastercard and Visa cards from The Bank of East Asia, DBS, Dah Sing Bank, Hang Seng Bank, HSBC and Standard Chartered Bank.

The service is also available in more than 5,000 retail locations including 7-Eleven, Circle K, Fortress, Mannings, Maxim’s Cakes, Maxim’s, McDonald’s, Pacific Coffee, ParknShop, SmarTone, Watsons and Wellcome.

“Android Pay also stores your gift cards, loyalty cards and special offers right on your phone,” Google’s Pali Bhat writes in a blog post. “Android Pay can also help you breeze through checkout in your favourite apps, including Boutir Collect, Deliveroo, Kaligo, Klook, Snaptee and, coming, Uber and more.”

“You can add multiple cards — there’s no limit to how many you can add — and select which card you want to use before you pay, so you can always enjoy the best deals available,” Bhat adds.

Android Pay was unveiled during the Google I/O keynote in May 2015 and was launched across the US in September 2015. The service made its UK debut in May 2016 after Google’s Spencer Spinnell hinted that a European launch of the mobile payment service was imminent earlier this year at Money20/20 Europe. It launched in Singapore in June and made its Australian debut in July.
