Amazon Fire Phone

The Amazon Fire Phone is an Android-based NFC smartphone with a host of shopping aids built in.

A dedicated Firefly button lets users recognize — and buy from Amazon — physical products, movies and music that they come across as they shop, browse and socialize.

Fire Phone offers NFC and will support Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) in the future.

The device runs Fire OS 3.5.0, Amazon’s tweaked version of Android, and comes with a 4.7-inch screen, quad-core 2.2GHz Snapdragon 800 processor, Adreno 330 graphics, 2GB of RAM and a 13MP rear camera.

AT&T is the exclusive network in the US, with prices starting at US$199 on a two-year contract, including a year’s free membership of Amazon Prime. The Fire Phone was announced on 18 June 2014 and will start shipping on 25 July.
