OPINION: It’s the big, bank-led trials that have had most of the NFC publicity so far. Away from the bright lights of the payments arena, though, there are quieter companies already enjoying commercial success with NFC.
Bringing together all the parties who need to be on board before NFC-based mobile payments can become a reality is a long and complex process. It’s clear this week, though, that there are simpler ways of putting NFC into the hands of the consumer — with solutions that are straightforward and inexpensive to implement and, most importantly, need only one person to give their approval before they can go ahead.
