Gemalto and STMicroelectronics have formed a new partnership with the aim of offering NFC solutions that provide the highest possible levels of end-to-end security.

The deal will see the two companies working together to combine ST’s range of NFC controllers, embedded secure elements and NFC SIM chips with Gemalto’s back office trusted service management and secure element operating system solutions.

The idea, ST’s Laurent Degauque and Gemalto’s Olivier Leger told NFC World, is to put systems in place that will enable the two companies to be able to assure customers that their solutions comply, from end to end, with all the latest security standards.
