Hotel room key provider VingCard Elsafe, in conjunction with other Assa Abloy group companies, has provided an NFC solution enabling Mobile World Congress 2013 event staff to use their Sony Xperia T NFC phones to access their hotel rooms.

“The trial participants, roaming from their home O2 UK operator, will check in at Hotel Porta Fira Santos, using their Sony handset,” VingCard explains. “They will receive their digital room keys straight to their handset, sent over the air and held securely in the Seos applet stored in their G&D NFC SIM in the Xperia T.

“Then trial participants simply touch their handset to the NFC-compatible Signature RFID by VingCard electronic door lock reader to access their hotel room.”
