FlockTag gets US$1m funding for NFC rewards

Flocktag's loyalty app

FlockTag, a technology startup working to digitise customer rewards for smaller businesses, has raised US$1m in series A funding for its NFC loyalty card and mobile app service.

The Michigan-based startup told NFC World: “The funding has come from a combination of local VCs, high net worth individuals and the State of Michigan. We are going to be using the money for product development and growth of our business footprint”.

FlockTag is a contactless loyalty card that is tapped on a sensor attached to an Android tablet at the point of sale at participating locations. Users collect digital loyalty stamps that are added to a mobile app linked to the user’s card account.
