Isis to launch NFC mobile payments across the US in 2013

NFC mobile payments are to be available to consumers across the United States from “later this year” following successful pilots in Austin, Texas and Salt Lake City, Utah, the Isis joint venture between carriers AT&T Mobility, T-Mobile and Verizon Wireless has announced.

“Over the past nine months, we have proven the power of an open platform, creating an ecosystem of literally hundreds of partners dedicated to making mobile commerce a reality,” said Michael Abbott, CEO of Isis.

The national launch will feature an updated version of Isis’ technology, Abbott added. “As part of our commitment to consumers, we are incorporating feedback from our pilots into the next generation of the Isis Mobile Wallet as we prepare for national availability later this year.”

ISIS is more concerned with carving out a piece for the carriers, rather than providing value to the customers. It’s a recipe for failure just read their reviews in the play store.
