Slovak Telekom to offer NFC payments

Slovak Telekom

Slovakian carrier Slovak Telekom is preparing to launch an NFC wallet allowing its customers to make payments, store loyalty cards and pay for transport.

“Slovak Telekom is working on an NFC solution and we would like to launch it at the end of 2013,” the carrier, which is 51% owned by Germany’s Deutsche Telekom, told NFC World.

“We expect our solution will include payment cards from several banks but also integrate additional services like loyalty cards, transport cards or event tickets.

“Our aim is to offer the solution, where activation and service management would be possible over-the-air from your mobile phone, with no need to visit your local bank or service provider.”
