NFC World’s ‘Tap to travel: Delivering NFC transport ticketing services at scale’ webinar is now available to view online. Some 359 people signed up to take part in the live event and participants gave the webinar an overall rating of four out of five.
The 45-minute webcast was hosted by Sarah Clark, editor of NFC World, and featured presentations by Ajay Rambocus, a technical specialist working in the GSMA digital commerce programme, along with Mifare4Mobile Industry Group’s Antonio Aranda and Telecom Italia’s Davide Pratone.
The webinar took place on May 21 and topics covered included:
- An explanation of the GSMA’s role and how it is working with key players to increase interoperability and efficiency for NFC transportation deployments;
- A summary of the GSMA Mifare4Mobile Implementation guidelines;
- A technical overview of the new Mifare4Mobile version 2.1.1, including its specifications, ecosystem, capabilities, design criteria and the interplay of actors and components.
The main presentations were then followed by an extensive Q&A session that covered the implications of the new implementation guidelines, the regulatory issues and challenges experienced by mobile network operators and transport operators, as well as clarification around the compatibility of the Mifare4Mobile guidelines with existing Mifare deployments.
A full recording of the webinar is now available free of charge in the NFC World+ Knowledge Centre, along with a downloadable slide deck from the event.
