VOICE COMMAND: Money can be sent using the Siri function on iOS10 devices

PayPal has enabled money transfers via Apple’s Siri voice command function, enabling users with iOS10 devices to make payments by speaking requests. The function will be available in 30 countries.

“PayPal users can now send and request money via a voice command with Siri,” PayPal says. “Simply say, Hey Siri, send Bill US$50 using PayPal.”

A video shows how the PayPal and Siri service will work:

The 30 countries are Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, China, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Israel, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, the UK, United Arab Emirates and the US.

Singapore’s OCBC Bank added Siri payment transfers in October 2016, after Azimo enabled the service earlier in the same month. Dutch bank ABN Amro was among the first to go live with Siri payment requests last month.
