Android Pay to launch in Australia, adds in-app payments in US

Google will launch its Android Pay mobile payment service across Australia in the first half of 2016 with support from several of the country’s major financial institutions, including ANZ, Westpac, Bank of Melbourne, Bank of South Australia, Bendigo Bank, Cuscal, ING Direct, Macquarie Bank and St George. The mobile payment service has also enabled in-app payments in the US. More

Walmart launches QR code mobile payments service in the US

Customers at US supermarket chain Walmart will soon be able to pay for purchases by scanning a QR code at the point of sale using Walmart Pay, the retailer’s own mobile payment service. Walmart Pay will be integrated into the Walmart app and introduced in select stores this month, with a nationwide launch expected in the first half of next year. More

TV commerce solutions provider Von Bismark has worked with Powa Technologies to roll out The Mall on Xbox One, which will make use of Powa’s mobile payments platform PowaTag. More
