PARTNER NEWS: Visitors at CTIA Super Mobility Week 2015 in Las Vegas and IBC 2015 in Amsterdam were able to capture and exchange business cards with other attendees using NFC badges powered by NXP’s Mifare DESFire EV1 chips. NFC event solutions provider ITN International’s BCard Reader and Interact mobile apps let visitors use their NFC mobile devices to read other attendee’s badges, add notes and save contacts.

NFC software specialist Zenius Solutions beat six other entrants to win the CTIA’s Disruptathon Mobile Enterprise innovation contest in San Diego on October 12. The firm’s NFC-based mobile payments offering picked up nods for most unique offer, best business model and most disruptive product and took home a US$20,000 first prize package.

Journalists have been invited to “get a look at what’s new from Android” at a Samsung press event subtitled the ‘Google Episode’, which is to be held at the CTIA Enterprise & Applications trade show in the US on October 11. Possible launches include Android Ice Cream Sandwich and the rumoured Google Nexus Prime handset, says This Is My Next.
