Android Pay will soon be available as a checkout option on mobile websites. “Users will soon be able to speed through mobile checkout on Chrome using Android Pay on sites like Groupon.com, 1-800-Flowers.com and many more to come,” Google writes. The service now also works for Chase members, following reports in August 2016 that the bank was planning to add Android Pay support. Google enhanced its APIs to take Android Pay to the web in May this year.

European mPOS company SumUp has announced €10m (US$11.2m) in funding from investors including BBVA Ventures and Groupon, taking the company’s funding total to €50m. The mobile barcode-based shopping service has hired PayPal Mobile’s former product lead to spearhead the introduction of an NFC-enabled mobile wallet that will let users store bank and credit cards as well as coupons, gift cards, instant rebates, loyalty cards and cash-back rewards on their mobile phones.
