Customers of Czech bank ČSOB can now make host card emulation (HCE) based mobile payments using its new NaNákupy mobile wallet. The app virtualizes Mastercard and Visa cards using technology supplied by payment processor SIA. “By the end of 2016, NaNákupy app users will have the possibility to pay on the internet, easily manage the settings of different credit cards and constantly monitor transactions made via mobile,” SIA says. “In addition, it will be possible to virtualize loyalty cards and store receipts, or share shopping lists on a smartphone.”

More than 350,000 Italians have now registered to use Jiffy, the P2P payment service launched by payment processor SIA in October 2014. “The average value of an individual transaction is around €52 (US$58), while transfers under €25 represent 44% of the total,” SIA says. “23 bank groups have joined the SIA P2P payments service since it was launched.” The service added support for in-store payments via QR code last month.

Italian consumers are now piloting in-store mobile payments using Jiffy, the person-to-person (P2P) payment service launched by payment processor SIA in October 2014. The service makes use of QR codes at the point of sale.

More than 300,000 Italians have registered to use P2P payment service Jiffy since it was launched by payment processor SIA in October 2014. “The average value of a single transaction is €44 and around 50% of the transfers are for sums under €25,” SIA says. “23 bank groups, of which four since the beginning of 2016, have subscribed to SIA’s P2P payment service since its launch on the Italian market. Once all the banks are active, the service will therefore be accessible by over 32m Italian current accounts, equal to around 80% of the total.”

Nearly three quarters of Polish consumers (74%) are aware of NFC mobile payments and 4% are using them, research conducted by ARC Rynek i Opinia for SIA reveals. 96% have heard of contactless payments and credit cards and 41% perceive them to be the most “modern”, followed by mobile payments (36%), payment cards or online bank transfers (35%).
