    Google’s browser connects with BLE

    The latest version of Google’s Chrome browser allows websites to interact with Bluetooth Low Energy devices. Chrome 56 Beta uses the Web Bluetooth API on Android, Chrome OS and Mac, and enables web developers to connect to Bluetooth devices such as printers and LED displays with “just a few lines of Javascript”. Web Bluetooth can also be combined with beacons to discover and control nearby devices, says the company.

    Chrome OS to get NFC unlock?

    Users may be able unlock their Chrome OS devices using NFC in the future, The Next Web reports. An API called chrome.screenlockPrivate will allow select apps to “use the USB, NFC, and/or Bluetooth APIs to communicate with a secondary trusted device such as a phone, ring, watch, or badge, thereby allowing that trusted device to serve as an alternative form of authentication for the user.”
