    Lloyds to trial biometrics for online banking

    Customers of Lloyds Banking Group across the UK will soon be able to log into their online banking accounts using fingerprint or facial recognition through Microsoft’s Windows Hello biometric authentication technology.     Microsoft previews online payments API

    Microsoft has unveiled a preview implementation of the Payment Request API in Microsoft Edge that will enable online payments on Windows 10 through Microsoft Wallet. “You can begin to develop for the Payment Request API today in Microsoft Edge on preview builds, starting with Windows Insider Preview build 14986,” Microsoft writes in a blog post. “The Microsoft Wallet user experience allowing for end-to-end testing will be available in an upcoming Insider build soon.”

    Windows Hello heads to apps and websites

    Microsoft is to extend its Windows Hello biometric authentication solution into apps and websites via the Microsoft Edge browser. “Beyond the hardware, Windows Hello will also give you instant access to paired apps and protected websites on Microsoft Edge — all while maintaining enterprise-level security,” Microsoft says. The update forms part of the company’s Windows 10 Anniversary Update.
