    Indosat Ooredoo to launch NFC payments in Indonesia

    Telecoms provider Indosat Ooredoo is to launch an NFC-based mobile payment service in Indonesia next month, Detik iNet reports. The move will see the company introduce a D Tap contactless payment card that can be linked to an NFC SIM card to enable payments to be made on a mobile device. The service “can be used by any bank clients and users of any telecommunications operator,” the publication says.

    Optus expands NFC payments to prepaid customers

    Australian carrier Optus has made its NFC mobile payment service available to prepaid customers, following its launch to postpaid customers in November 2014. “Simply download the Cash by Optus app or go online to order your Cash by Optus SIM,” the carrier says. “When you receive your SIM, simply pop it in your smartphone. Just load money onto your Cash by Optus facility and you’re ready to make secure payments.”

    Samsung to use NXP SE for Chinese devices

    Samsung will build NXP’s SmartMX P61N1M3 embedded secure element into versions of its Galaxy S6 destined for China, where it will be used in the Samsung Pay NFC mobile payments service.     SIMalliance publishes NFC paper

    The SIMalliance has set out its recommendations for UICC configuration and feature requirements for NFC payments in a new paper called UICC Configuration for Mobile NFC Payments v1.0. “One of SIMalliance’s greatest priorities is to continue to drive UICC interoperability,” says the association’s Frederic Vasnier. “Our sight remains firmly fixed on helping MNOs ease third-party access to their subscribers via NFC-enabled SIMs.”

    PosteMobile to roll out NFC
