Masabi raises $4m and moves into NFC

London-based mobile ticketing specialist Masabi has raised US$4m in Series B funding from M8 Capital to support a move into NFC and expansion to the US.

Many UK rail passengers now use the company's barcode-based 'Ticket Machine in Your Pocket' application to purchase and display tickets on their handsets. Masabi's CEO Ben Whitaker commented, "We have received overwhelmingly positive feedback from consumers using our m-ticketing solutions, proving that mobile phones can revolutionise the way we travel."
