    MasterCard has agreed to acquire NFC technology provider C-Sam. “C-Sam’s on-device application and back-end infrastructure will aid development efforts to enable consumers to use MasterPass both in-store and online across multiple communications technologies, including NFC, QR, barcodes and remote checkout,” says MasterCard. C-Sam’s NFC customers include DNP, Eftpos Australia, Isis, Starhub and TrustNordics.

    Singapore-based mobile network operator M1 and banking group DBS have teamed up to expand the NFC payments options available to their customers. DBS’ One.Tap virtual credit card was previously available only to Singtel StarHub subscribers while M1 customers were able to use either the carrier’s own M1 NFC Prepaid MasterCard or an EZ-Link prepaid card application.
