    Tag app for WP8 phones

    Developer Andreas Jakl has introduced NFC Interactor, an NFC tag reading and writing application for Windows Phone 8 handsets. The app is also available for Symbian and MeeGo devices.

    Tizen preview unveiled

    The Linux Foundation has published a Tizen SDK preview to give application developers a pre-release look at the new mobile operating system. Tizen, a free open source OS based on Linux, is the successor to Meego and will support NFC. Development is led by members of the Tizen Association, which include Intel, Samsung, NTT Docomo, SK Telecom, Orange, Vodafone and Telefónica.

    Nokia turns on N9’s NFC

    Nokia has released a software update that switches on NFC tag reading functionality in its MeeGo-based N9 handset. Once the PR1.1 update is loaded on the phone, the company says, it will “instantly interact with NFC tags”.
