Hewlett Packard (HP) has introduced a service for enterprise customers that enables users to authenticate themselves with a tap of their NFC phone or tablet when they wish to print a document, enabling customers to “experience a simplified login process without sacrificing device or data security, or requiring a proximity card reader system.”

HP has added the HP Officejet Pro 8630 and 8620 to its range of printers that support NFC, enabling users to tap their NFC phone or tablet to a printer to start a print job. HP also offers the Color LaserJet Pro MFP M476 with NFC, four enterprise printers and two add-ons for existing devices.

Telecom Italia is using Gemalto’s end-to-end Mobile Financial Services solution to power its TIM mobile wallet. The solution includes the LinqUs TSM platform for secure management of NFC applications and the LinqUs mobile payment platform for transaction management.
