Customers of more than 60 banks belonging to The Bokis Partnership have become the first in Denmark to be offered a mobile payment service for Dankort, the country’s national debit and credit card. The service is available through the mobile apps offered by each of the supporting banks and works on Android handsets through host card emulation (HCE) and on iOS through a Bluetooth acceptance device at the point of sale.

Customers of banks belonging to Danish banking collective The Bokis Partnership will soon be able to make host card emulation (HCE) based mobile payments via a service that uses an HCE and tokenization platform from digital payment services provider Nets and Carta Worldwide.

More than 30,000 Danish merchants using Verifone POS devices will now be able to accept in-store mobile payments through Swipp — a service owned and supported by a consortium of more than 70 banks. This will be made possible via a “minor upgrade” to their existing terminals and “a number” of locations are expected to go live from December 2015, according to Swipp.
