Payment processor Worldline has received end-to-end Visa certification to run its cloud-based payments solution in-house. “This solution enables issuers to provide their clients with Visa PayWave on their Android mobile NFC phones with embedded host card emulation (HCE) technology,” Worldline says. “These highly secured transactions will be accepted on all Visa enabled contactless terminals around the world.”

Canadian consumers can now accept payments by having a contactless card tapped against their NFC phone using PayMeTap, a P2P payments app developed by Mobeewave. After entering the amount to be paid, “the only action required is to tap the card you want to charge to your phone and money is deposited in your account within 48 hours,” the company says. “The person making the payment doesn’t need to be signed up to the service.”

Indian consumers can now make payments at participating retail locations using their mobile device and sound based technology developed by startup ToneTag. The feature has been integrated into MoboMoney, an NFC payments platform launched by information technology provider Tech Mahindra in December 2015, to extend the service to a greater number of mobile devices and merchants across the country.

ING has made its host card emulation (HCE) based mobile payments service available to all its customers in the Netherlands with an NFC phone running Android 4.4 or higher following a trial that began in September 2015.
