    Samsung Pay to get AI assistant?

    Samsung is to add a virtual assistant called Bixby to Samsung Pay, a Samsung Pay Beta page seen by Galaxy Club reveals. “It’s unclear how exactly it’ll work, but we’re hoping you’ll be able to say something along the lines of, ‘Bixby, send $30 to Carlos’,” Sammobile reports. The beta page also hints at the upcoming launch of the Samsung Pay Mini online payments app that was unveiled in May 2016.

    Samsung Pay prepares for India launch

    Samsung Pay is testing its mobile payment service in India, and could be launched there in the first half of 2017, SamMobile reports. “Since India does not have many NFC-equipped point-of-sale devices, Samsung Pay’s MST (magnetic secure transmission) functionality would be a boon to users,” the publication adds. The move follows the withdrawal of Rs 500 (US$7) and Rs 1,000 ($14) notes across the country in November 2016.

    Samsung Pay to launch in Russia?

    Samsung Pay may soon be on its way to Russia, SamMobile reports. “It appears that Russia’s largest mobile carrier has already prepared promotional material for the Galaxy S7; the image leaked online shows a poster with the very familiar looking Galaxy S7 as well as a clear indication that Samsung Pay will be supported,” the publication says. “Samsung Pay might very well be launched in Russia alongside the new flagship in the coming weeks.”

    Samsung Pay set for China, Spain and UK?

    Samsung Pay will launch in China, Spain and the UK in the first quarter of 2016, “as per the information that we’ve received,” SamMobile reports. The service has been live in Korea since August 2015 and in the US since September.

    Samsung Wallet to close on June 30th

    Samsung is to discontinue its Samsung Wallet service on 30 June 2015 as it gears up to roll out Samsung Pay later in the year. “We are sorry to inform you that the app and its related content will not be accessible after the termination date,” the company explains in an email sent to Samsung Wallet users and seen by Sammobile.

    Galaxy S6 to get new fingerprint sensor?

    Samsung could replace the swipe-based fingerprint sensor used on the Galaxy S5 with a touch-based sensor on the Galaxy S6, expected to be introduced in the coming months. “The sensor will work in the same manner as on the Huawei Ascend Mate 7 and the iPhone 5S/6/6 Plus,” SamMobile reports.
